What does it mean by stretchy image?

When we upload some images in our post, we usually select Extra large sizes for our images, and also we don't optimize the images for our blogpost. That is why when we open our blogpost on mobile, the images are stretched and look very terrible. If we optimize our image and then upload it on blogger, we can select the original size after uploading so the image will not be stretched on the mobile version. But to do this, you can apply a lot of methods available online from free websites to paint apps in your windows.

Why do images get stretched?

When we download images from a website, usually it's in a high resolution like 1920x780 or something near to this. But we have to make sure our blogpost loads faster as much as it can. We have to reduce the image size without losing its clarity and quality, to this, we use many methods from compressing the image to reducing the resolution without noticeable changes.
